Safari Overview:
Walk freely alongside the wildlife of Tanzania and visit unique sights. A great way to start the Nature Safari Experience. At the foot of Mount Meru, the second highest mountain in the country lies the beautiful Arusha National Park.
An exotic wildlife sanctuary, famous for its green surroundings, lakes, unique sights and its black and white colubus monkey.
A walking safari is a unique and thrilling experience and a chance to be up-close with wild animals, face to face. Something that is only possible in a few national parks.
Full Itinerary
Day 1
Nature Guides Safaris representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel around Usa river in Arusha for dinner and overnight.

Day 2
After breakfast, your guides will pick you from hotel ready for safari to Arusha National Park. On arrival start your Nature Walking Safari at 08:30 accompanied by armed guide for safety and full explanation of Park’s treasures.
You have an opportunity to descend through Meru Crater. Where you will be able to see Uwanja wa Mbogo(Buffalo Glade); a natural glade that consists of marsh, bushes and streams. You will enjoy fantastic views of Ngarenanyuki River. Some of the wildlife that can be spotted here includes; buffaloes, warthogs and giraffes.
At lunch time, take a break to enjoy your packed picnic lunch, after which you will continue with your amazing nature walk through the Momella-Tululusia Waterfall trail. The picturesque waterfall is quite rewarding scenery, with its height being approximately 28meters high. The steep gorge walls that have been created by falls itself are a home to the Red-winged Starlings.
The Tululusia hill offers breathtaking views of the lower areas of Arusha National Park and the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro. While you are along this trail expect to spot wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, Colubus monkeys, red duiker, Suni, Leopard, and Python among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
Duration: 5-7 hours hiking
After breakfast, the guide from Nature Guides Safaris will pick you up from the lodge and drive to the Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Here, after registration with the Tanzania National Park (TANAPA), you will begin your ascent.
The first day of hiking is similar to a walking safari; you should expect to see giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and potentially elephants near the trail. Due to the high possibility of spotting wildlife, an armed ranger, hired through the National Park, is required to hike with our team for the duration of the hike.
As you continue, you will pass by the Ngarenanyuki River and a beautiful waterfall at the base of Mt. Meru. Then, you will arrive at the Miriakamba Hut (2500m), and you’ll enjoy a beautiful sunset and dinner here.

Day 4
Duration: 3-5 hours of hiking
After breakfast, you will start ascending the steep trail along the ridge of the saddle. You might also spot various wild animals along the way!
The trail has amazing views of Mt. Meru Crater and the Ash Tray. When you arrive at camp, you’ll have the option of hiking Little Mt. Meru (3820m) with your guide for more acclimatization. After an early dinner, you’ll receive ample rest before your midnight summit attempt. Get to sleep by 1900!

Day 5
Duration: 12-14 hours of hiking
You’ll wake up at 00:30 for light breakfast and thereafter begin your summit attempt at 1:30 am. The trail starts off on a steep grade to Rhino Point (3800m) and Cobra Point (4350m). The last hour of the hike will be a scramble on a rocky ridge between the crater and inner cliffs of Meru.
You will reach the summit of Meru (4565m) at sunrise with spectacular views of Mt. Meru Ash Tray and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Enjoy your views then descend to Momella Gate and return to your lodge and get prepared for other activities or take your International flight back home.
